INTRO TO SPORTS

Studies show, that children who play multiple sports learn how to socialize and are better teammates! Let your child have the time of their life by experiencing a new sport each time they come to class. Children will get introduced to 5 different sports and each week a new sport will be featured. The sports are soccer, football, baseball / softball, lacrosse and basketball.

U4/U5 – Mondays, 6pm – 7pm
U6/U7 – Mondays, 7pm – 8pm

$60 per session, 6 classes per session

Intro To Sports Curriculum

WEEK 1:
LACROSSE
  • Stick introduction and proper hand placement
  • Catching with and without a stick
  • Cradling and running while cradling the ball
  • Shooting on goal, flick wrist motion
WEEK 2:
SOFTBALL/BASEBALL
  • Base running and rounding bases
  • Properly catching and securing ball
  • Proper hitting and catching stance
  • Fielding different types of hits
WEEK 3:
BASKETBALL
  • Ball handling with proper hand placement
  • Dribbling, both stationary and while in motion
  • Stationary passing and catching different types of passes
  • Proper shooting form
WEEK 4: SOCCER
  • Foot placement and proper kicking technique
  • Stationary passing
  • Playing within boundaries and keeping ball in play
  • Importance of positions, including defense
WEEK 5: FOOTBALL
  • Hand placement when throwing the football
  • Catching with fingers
  • Passing and catching between players
  • Flag football games with emphasis on sportsmanship
WEEK 6: PARENTS WEEK
  • Combination of sports
  • Friendly scrimmages
  • Pizza party celebration
